Launched in 2020 by Grace Farms, Design for Freedom is a movement that champions the need to design and build more humanely. Hayes Davison has partnered with Grace Farms to help communicate its mission to as wide an audience as possible, and to encourage global participation in its initiatives.

Design for Freedom by Grace Farms

Studio Cooke John
Organising events, producing toolkits and collaborating with Universities, Design for Freedom works with over 100 industry leaders and experts in the built environment, who help raise awareness around industry inequality and promote fair labour and ethical material supply chains. This year their annual summit brought together over 550 built environment leaders, academics and students to share ideas and work towards a common goal, with a new exhibition, ‘With Every Fiber’, which opened in Connecticut in May 2024 that showcases emerging initiatives and pilot projects.
To ensure that this research can be accessed by as many as possible, Hayes Davidson created a virtual sister exhibition hosted online to facilitate international collaboration and debate.
Interactive elements create a dynamic experience for virtual visitors to be able to explore a range of innovative materials and products, including a car park made of coconut waste and packaging formed from mushrooms.
