Inspired by New York’s iconic Highline, the Camden Highline will turn a disused stretch of railway viaduct into a new elevated park and walking route to create a rich new community asset. The route for the Highline is 1.2km long, around 8 metres above ground and will create local green space for use by around 20,000 people with seating areas, cafés, public art and charitable activities.
This was a challenging scheme to visualise owing to its significant length and narrow width, and we worked closely with the Camden Highline charity and their stakeholders to identify the most impactful views: an aerial view to show the sheer scale of the project and another showing the detail of the materiality and placemaking ambition at ground level. Extensive workshops ensured that our visuals were rooted in the local context.
