We experimented with video-to-motion-capture software to translate live skating footage into usable 3D motion, testing how naturally an ice skater could inhabit our wintery animated world. The process helped us explore realism, fluidity, and how far we could push performance-driven animation without a full mocap shoot. Whilst we ended up not going down this path, this experiment has informed future projects with similar demands.
