We visualise unbuilt architecture using technology and artistry. Our clients are architects, developers, planners and city authorities. We understand how buildings are perceived and we know how people will react to images.
With 25 years of experience, we are well organised, have a great team and we deliver on time and to budget. The majority of our work comes from longstanding relationships and word of mouth. We deliver valuable benefits to our clients:
- We support design
- We analyse city form
- We maximise off-plan values
- We analyse how cities are seen
- We communicate + engage
- We win media attention
Architect founded, we are unashamed enthusiasts for good architecture and design. Focused on supporting architects to make design vision a reality, we take time to understand architectural intent and use a collaborative planning process to maximise imaging opportunities that enhance the architect's concept.
Clients include Zaha Hadid, RSHP, Foster + Partners, Shigeru Ban, Daniel Liebskind, Herzog + de Meuron, Renzo Piano, Rafael Viñoly, Wilkinson Eyre, John Pawson, Neil Denari, David Chipperfield, Thomas Heatherwick, Jean Nouvel and OMA.
Hayes Davidson assesses the visual impact of change in cities. We specialise in large, complex or contentious development projects, collaborating closely with planning consultants and townscape advisors to deliver TVIA and visual change assessments that support planning applications. Visual science allows a deeper and more rounded understanding of the built environment than conventional 'verified' imaging alone allows.
Our approach has been successfully employed in major planning applications, appeals and public inquiries. Hayes Davidson was the first company to build a verified methodology for planning assessment and has a proven track record with more than 55 million sq ft of development approved.
We work with visionary developers to help them achieve some of the highest – and fastest – offplan values in the world, in both luxury residential and office pre–lets. The changing world of international property investment has meant new opportunities in high–end development where the highest quality architecture and design is essential.
Office/commercial clients include Tishman Speyer, British Land, Stanhope and Land Securities. Residential clients include Candy + Candy, One and Only and Ian Schrager, with projects based in London, New York, Hawaii, Miami and the Caribbean.
We work closely with building owners, organisations and institutions to help them engage with the public and specialist bodies on their development plans. We design easy-to-understand spatial information graphics and interactive communications that quickly explain the concept, layout and function of design proposals, building understanding, support and approval. Clients include Tate Modern, Ballet Rambert, Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal Festival Hall and the British Museum.
We are deeply interested in cities and the ongoing potential for improved forms of visual assessment. The city is not a simple 2D artistic composition and planning politics are often inappropriately focused on 'views' of the built environment. We employ human-centric tools and visual science to develop more balanced methodologies by which changes to a city can be assessed.
Our work explores how the eye and brain work together, sometimes in unexpected ways, to 'see' the city around us. This research has been successfully employed to support applications at public inquiries. Hayes Davidson continues to explore innovations in visualisation of the urban environment.
Major buildings and developments attract media interest; managing the message is key. A story often starts with the image, and good early-stage strategic planning can give a project a significant advantage, winning positive media attention and wider public engagement. We construct carefully crafted image strategies giving our clients' projects the best chance of a positive response and maximum coverage.
