The Shard

When completed in 2011, the 305m high Shard will represent the most significant addition to the London skyline this century.

Designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop for Sellar Property, the 82 storey building is to be situated adjacent to London Bridge Station on London’s South Bank. The building will contain offices, a luxury Shangri-La hotel and apartments, as well as a dramatic public viewing gallery on the 72nd floor offering 360ยบ views of London.

In July 2002 the Secrtary of State called in the proposal for determination at a public inquiry. The inquiry took place in April 2003. Hayes Davidson led all visualisation for the inquiry and advised on evidence relating to visual issues and perception of the building. On the 19th November 2003 approval was given.
