Hayes Davidson has a multi disciplinary team with expertise from many different fields. Day to day, skills and knowledge of architecture, interiors, CG, photography, drawing, vision, perception, surveying, mapping, programming and graphics are employed and together ensure a unique approach to projects.
At the heart of the studio are its artists. Hayes Davidson artists come from a wide range of design based backgrounds and share a commitment to the highest artistic standards in architectural illustration. The studio is committed to ongoing personal artistic development, and ensures that every artist has art reviews, skills assessments, training and mentoring.

Alan Davidson
Partner
Alan founded Hayes Davidson in 1989 creating the first professional practice CG illustration studio specialising in architecture in the UK and continues to oversee the design and refinement of the studio practice model. After studying Fine Art and Architecture at the University of Edinburgh, Alan was awarded a scholarship to study urban design in Singapore and worked in architectural practice in Fiji. Alan qualified as an architect in 1986. Alan has interests in architecture, art, urban planning, business/social structures, visual perception, information graphics, interactive communications, social media and geospatial analysis. Lectures, consultancy and expert witness work include advising on strategies for visual communication and visual perception of the built environment. Alan is an advisor and holds non-executive roles with companies working in a wide range of sectors including communications and future trends research. An enthusiast for wider, shared ownership, Alan initiated the move to convert Hayes Davidson into a Partnership in 2010 and continues to work with the management group to develop the studio. -
Lewis Quinn
Partner
Lewis leads the Studio on all projects and takes responsibility for maintaining the artistic output of the Studio at the highest level. Lewis drives innovation, managing the studio's ongoing research and development program, including the exploration and development of new methods to illustrate and communicate space and architecture across a wide range of media. He has built outstanding experience in the industry, and has been a major influence and driver in Hayes Davidson’s growth since 2002, leading the studio on a wide variety of high profile landmark projects located both in the UK and internationally working closely with many of the world’s most respected architectural practices and design agencies. He has worked across many sectors, on projects that range in size from the small to the large and complex; from luxury international developments to building significant and ground breaking new techniques for public inquiry work including London's Doon Street and 1/20 Blackfriars. Lewis manages the studio's ongoing education, training and artist development programmes. Lewis worked alongside Alan as co-director and was instrumental in the formation of the HD Partnership in April 2010. -
Simon Navin
Simon has a background in spatial and geometrical management and has a history of managing large projects. Simon has led much of the Studio’s work on key planning submissions and public inquiries. He has played a significant role in the development of new techniques and methods for planning visualisation and perception and leads the studio's consultation with client’s and statutory bodies on emerging guidance and methodology for planning imagery. Simon developed and manages Hayes Davidson’s planning QA and ensures that Hayes Davidson consistently delivers the accuracies and precision required on planning projects. -
Neil Hughes
Neil is responsible for the finances and day-to-day operations of the studio. He also oversees the management of the studio's IT and Human Resources functions. Neil originally trained as an accountant and has a background working in major London based post-production digital facilities specialising in film and visual effects. -
David Bullock
David is a graduate of 3d Design and spent the early part of his career developing his visualisation skills working as an Exhibition Designer. David joined Hayes Davidson in 2008 and became an Associate Partner in April 2010. During his time with Hayes Davidson he has worked on and led a variety of projects ranging in size and complexity, working closely with architectural practices such as Zaha Hadid, Renzo Piano, RSHP and David Adjaye.
